Ever since I saw this weird but cute "Blue II," it's stayed there in my mind. (Although I originally thought it should be called 1,000,000,000,000 or something similar.) But I've never really remembered the name Joan Miro; let alone associate it with the art exhibit that is now taking place in National Museum of History. And then I found myself so in love with his paintings.
love love love this artist. Picasso's exhibit was in 2011 and Dali's was last year. Now it's Miro's. I wonder if there's a program or project planned behind this. The idea of connecting the three is undoubtedly wonderful. So I spent a lovely summer afternoon date with Miro and tim.

1. Postcard from the gift shop, Figure and Bird, 1948 2. Postcard from the gift shop, Cave Birds II, 1971 3. Postcard from the gift shop, The Birds, 1956 4. Art exhibition brochure 5. Children Art Contest
I personally love to buy postcards after each art exhibition as souvenirs for myself cuz they're easy to carry, easy to keep, and of course, easy to buy $$$. Besides, who could see these postcards waving hands at you and not buy them? I also bought a poster of the background painting in #4 above. Our guide said it looks like a juicy piece of watermelon, and I couldn't help seeing it that way now. Outside the museum, we found application forms for children's art contest. It's for elementary school kids unfortunately. If you have kids of this age, click the link above and get more info. The deadline is August, 16.
